Cross-Reference, OEM, and Customization
22. Can Salecom cross-reference or replace NKK, C&K, APEM, ITT, or FUJISOKU switches?
Salecom's website already provides cross-reference categories for APEM, ITT, NKK, and FUJISOKU as a starting point for replacement-part development. A cross-reference isn't valid on appearance or function name alone — dimensions, panel cutout, pin layout, electrical rating, actuation method, life expectancy, IP rating, materials, certifications, and real-world testing all still need to be confirmed.
23. What information speeds up a cross-reference evaluation?
Provide the original brand, full part number, datasheet, photos, dimensional drawing, operating voltage/current, AC or DC, contact configuration, mounting method, terminal type, actuation method, operating environment, certification needs, and annual volume. If there's a known failure, describe the symptom too — water ingress, poor contact, sticking actuation, LED failure, or loose terminals.
24. Can cap color, LED color, terminals, or operating force be customized?
Depends on the series. Common customization options include cap color, LED color, terminal type, contact configuration, operating force, printing/marking, wire leads, frame, and packaging. Feasibility depends on the platform, MOQ, tooling constraints, certification scope, and lead time — raise custom requirements as early in the project as possible.
25. When should Salecom get involved in an OEM/ODM project?
As early as possible. Swapping switches after panel cutouts, PCB layout, or full-system certification are finalized often forces panel, terminal, circuit, or test rework. Confirm switch dimensions, operating force, waterproof design, life expectancy, certifications, and supply-chain terms before EVT or DVT, not after.
